A Daily Lift – October 28, 2020

Good Morning,

I hope that you are doing well!

Our “lifts” for today:

From Chambrel Jones (Dean’s Office)

The Philadelphia Film Society has created a Drive-In movie experience at the Philadelphia Navy Yard that offers a socially distanced way to view an exciting curated slate of films, all from the safety of your own vehicle. PFS Drive-In at the Navy Yard is able to accommodate up to 200 cars per screening, films will be shown via top-of-the-line digital projection on a large screen fastened to stacked shipping containers, creating optimal vantage points for attendees.

From Renuka Vallarapu (CETS)

Youth-inspiring-Youth: A lot of SEAS employees have kids in the middle school/high school age. They can take some inspiration from this story – Recently, my niece was asking me what would be a good community service project. I told her very casually “Make 100 masks at home and give them away to those in need.” Guess what? She actually did it.

Here is the proof:

From NASA: “Captured on Oct. 20, 2020, during the OSIRIS-REx mission’s Touch-And-Go (TAG) sample collection event, this series of images shows the SamCam imager’s field of view as the NASA spacecraft approaches and touches down on asteroid Bennu’s surface, over 200 million miles (321 million km) away from Earth.”
