100 Years of Penn Women’s Athletics

Starting this month and continuing through the next year, the University’s Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1921 formation of the Women’s Athletic Association and the official start of women’s athletics at the University. International Women’s Day is next Monday, March 8th. It is “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.” This year’s theme is “Choose to Challenge.”
