A Daily Lift – June 5, 2020

Good Morning,

I hope that you are doing well.

Philadelphia and our suburbs are entering the “yellow” phase, and Pennsylvania’s “stay-at-home” order has been lifted today! There still are restrictions – sorry, no salons or gyms and no outdoor dining in Philadelphia. Information is found at: https://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2020/06/05/reopening-philadelphia-what-moving-to-the-yellow-phase-means-for-city-southeastern-pennsylvania-counties/

Our “lifts” for today:

From Jennifer Sheffield (CIS)

Anthony McGill, principal clarinetist of the NY philharmonic, challenged fellow musicians and Americans to shine a light on racism in their own way using the hashtag #TakeTwoKnees

Something to make you smile!

From Dr. Gerald Lopez (Singh Center for Nanotechnology) and his adorable daughter Luna, an uplifting video!

“I wanted to share something I created with one of my daughters, Luna. Next year, I’m the conference chair for The International Conference on Electron, Ion and Photon Beam Technology and Nanofabrication (EIPBN). Each year, the venue reveal is part of our tradition at the conference banquet. This year, since we had to cancel our meeting, I decided to do something a little different. I am happy to share the video with you and the rest of my SEAS colleagues.” – Gerald
